The Journal of Ferrari History

Cavallino is the journal of Ferrari history, covering Ferraris old and new for over 40 years. It's the most reliable, most trusted source of everything Ferrari. Ever since the first issue in 1978 Cavallino presents extensive stories and detailed information from knowledgeable experts and enthusiasts who share the passion for Ferrari. All Ferraris are unique, and each one has its own chassis serial number. This is how the Ferrari world keeps track of all the great cars. Cavallino is the only publication that prints the serial number for every Ferrari mentioned in our stories, articles, and race results.

Since his coming into the world of Grand Prix motor racing as a manufacturer at the end of the 1948 season, Enzo Ferrari found again in his path his former employer Alfa Romeo. This first confrontation was not to his advantage, but the absence in the next year of the manufacturer with the four-leaf closer emblem allowed him to glean hist first successes in Formula One.

A strong entry for the first round of the LMS at the Paul Ricard circuit in the South of France included four Ferrari 458 Italia GTs in the new GTE-PRO class, and four Ferrari F430 GTs and GTCs in the GTE-AM class. The new for 2011 classes come with the demise of the poorly subscribed GT1 class in the series.

Seven Ferrari competed in the 2011's Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, in two new classes - GTE (AM) which requires that only one driver can be professional while the other two (or three) are non-professional, or in other words, talented amateurs or "gentlemen racers", to use a term from the old days.
